"The Adventures of Biggles and His Intrepid Spaniel Stig Amongst the Giant Pygmies of Beckles Vol.8"
Title by Chilly Heinz
Biggles was an adventurer
and a character on the page
He traveled through space and time
when his twin needed to be saved.
He captured the Menace from Space
and fought the Golden Bird
He tackled the toughest Tiger
Then let his voice be heard.
It was the Battle of Britain
that captured all the glory
and helped to blend the pieces
of this silly story.
Stig may appear as a sidekick
but can be the instigator
so don't let the spaniel fool you
Stig was a creator.
He may have been fearless
in so far as what he put to the page
But when it came to the Giant Pygmies
It might as well have been rage.
He lunged right towards them
as he got up all his nerve
but what happened next
ventures on the absurd.
Stig ran right up to them
but couldn't hold his bladder
he abruptly stopped inches away
as they wondered, "What's the matter?"
He then took aim on the Giant Pygmies
from the town of Beckles.
As his urine hit them
their skin developed freckles.
The Giant Pygmies were gentle people
so they didn't know what to do
As Stig passed out
They realized he had more than a few.
Biggles finally caught up
and saw Stig on the ground
He apologized for his friend
and said he'd buy the next round.
The Quizzo master started
this game of the obscure.
The two teams kept coming back
always wanting more.
The oxymorons made him laugh
and he commented on every one
He's just glad that they decided
to come out and have some fun.
As it turns out
there was a little Magic tonight
the Giant Pygmies took the lead
without much of a fight.
Stig had awoken
but was much to embarrassed today
It's not normal for him
to ever act this way.
Earlier in the day
he went to the bookstore
The clerk didn't have what he wanted
but he always kept asking for more.
After they both gave up looking
they went to the local pub.
They had a few drinks
but obviously not enough grub.
Then Stig met up with Biggles
just in time for Quizzo.
The place was unusually empty,
so many people didn't show.
Biggles decided to go outside
to make some quick phone calls
He tried to get more people to join
but he couldn't reach them all.
So the battle was on-
from comic to stage,
as this twisted adventure
goes down on the page.

Twins
Twins
Title by Liz Beam
With the same birthday and parents,
some might call them a pair.
Their experiences may vary,
but there are some things that they'll share.
Like the deepest connection
because from inception they're together.
They will have individual qualities
but can be "two birds of a feather."
The perception of many is
"How can this be?
I can't believe you are twins,
you look so different to me."
Fraternal twins may be different
formed from two separate eggs.
It allows them to be unique
and to find their own way.
As time passes by
life may drift them apart,
then just like that they'll be back again,
with what they had from the start.

to help restore the balance.
They will be each other's greatest support

Precious Passing Moments
Precious Passing Moments
Title by Heather Pasqualino Weinrich
The glimpse of a rainbow,
The dew drops on a leaf,
These precious passing moments
are the ones we often seek.
The first cry of a newborn,
A beautiful spring day,
Sometimes the things that escape us
we wish we could keep that way.
Building a sandcastle by the ocean,
watching a wave come upon the shore,
The first kiss with your true love,
or winning a big award.
Enjoy what you experience
as it presents itself to you.
Remember that these moments are fleeting
but their impact lasts as you allow it to.

Muddy Monkey Shoes
Muddy Monkey Shoes
Title by Dianne Moser-StoutThrough the murkiest of Aprils;
with storms constantly passing by.
It should have been no surprise
that my monkey shoes wouldn't stay dry.
But what I didn't count on,
as you can plainly see,
is the trail of mud I left
with every step behind me.
I must have been distracted.
I didn't realize I walked in mud.
But I guess it could have been easy
with constant downpours and coastal floods.
The carpet and floors are dirty,
so I've got some cleaning to do.
I wish I had more time today,
to deal with my muddy monkey shoes.

Cloud Dreams on a Sunny Day
Cloud Dreams on a Sunny Day
Title by Kathy Kulp
4/14/2011
I have cloud dreams on a sunny day.
I just want to go out and play.
To experience the freedom I had when I was young,
and there wasn't so much work to be done.
I remember days in Tennessee,
and think about how it used to be.
My sister and I would run around,
until we fell right to the ground.
And then we'd look at the clouds above,
dreaming about all the things we love.
We imagined faces and animals while singing songs.
Time went by so quickly but also never lasted so long.
We stayed outside throughout the day,
until the sun's shadow cast away.
Then as the moon shared it's glow that night,
We watched through our window as angels danced in the light.
A memory to hold true as Spring comes again,
with the message to treasure time, family, and friends.
