Fumbling with Futility

"Fumbling with Futility"
By Cynthia Wilson
5/4/05
Title by Pat Manley

Reality enjoys escape,
without a purpose in life.
How can I discover,
if what I'm doing is right?
I think about all I have done,
and where I'd like to be.
But it just seems,
that I'm fumbling with futility.
The path that I'm on,
could be down the wrong road.
Why am I here,
carrying this heavy load?
I hope this burden can be lifted,
and I will know the direction to take.
Cause no one wants to live,
within a big mistake.

Fear of Vomiting

"Fear of Vomiting"
By Cynthia Wilson
5/4/05
Title by Ben

The sound,
the smell,
and the feeling
of weakness reigns.
It catches you,
off guard,
off center,
off balance.
The core of what you are
loses nourishment,
loses pride,
or loses control.
And that is why
you have a fear of vomiting.

Box Car of Oranges

"Box Car of Oranges"
4/5/05
By: Cynthia Wilson
Title by Dave Gerbstadt

Crayons set the scene
for the dancing palette
the colors so serene
the sun shines on the trees

The light in every window
The orange ball in the sky
The fruit that so many enjoy
The one hanging on the tree up high

I throw the oranges in the box car
cause I don't like their smell
Their taste is bitter to me
But the boyscouts have them to sell

And they are in a truck now
so those who pass by
show that citrus draws the crowds
but I still can't understand why

In NY there was an exhibit once
a display to be seen
the citrus on long poles
bright colors on every beam.

Ah, the memories.

Tomorrow Never Knows

"Tomorrow Never Knows"
4/5/05
By: Cynthia Wilson
Title by Janine

Today our reality
is the perception we have
of now

An event, an emotion
or another
can change that perception

How we feel today
can be completely different
in an instant

So tomorrow never knows
which way the wind blows
And we don't know how
that effects us
or those around us.

It is the cause and effect of life.
